All surgeries are by appointment and appointments are available each day though some can be pre-booked well in advance. You may also ask for or be offerd a phone call. Urgent cases will be seen the same day. For more information select appointments above or under further information.
We offer a complete family planning service including advice on contraception and emergency contraception (sometimes called the morning after pill).
We provide advice on how patients may stop smoking. We also hold smoking cessation clinics which can be booked through reception. We actively encourage patients to have a programme for stopping smoking and adopting a lifestyle for reducing the risk of heart disease.
Our practice nurses are well-trained and experienced in helping you to be adequately protected for your holiday trip abroad. We offer a comprehensive range of vaccinations. A fee may be charged for some vaccines. Please ask at reception. See the practice information page 'Travel Information' for details of our online form
A range of minor operations such as removal of lumps and bumps are carried out at the surgery.
We hold a number of specialist nurses' clinics covering a wide range of problems, for example: Asthma and Diabetics clinics.
Includes immunisations and development checks. You will be called for immunisation for the under 5's automatically by the Health Authority. Please let us know if your child is ill or cannot attend
If you have a heart or lung problem, asthma, diabetes or are in frail health you are advised to have a flu injection every year. Clinics normally begin in September when the vaccine becomes available.
The antenatal clinic is led by the midwife and the doctor is available for consultation when necessary. Care is usually shared with the hospital.
We recommend that all women up to the age of 50 have a smear test every three years and women between 50 and 64 every five years. You may make an appointment for a smear with the practice nurse during normal working hours.
In certain circumstances during an examination of an intimate nature the doctor may ask a nurse to be present. This is to protect both the doctor and the patient. If a suitable chaperone is not available an alternative appointment will be offered. A patient may of course request a chaperone be present but this may mean that another appointment will be necessary.
Our practice nurses are trained and experienced in helping you to be adequately protected for your holiday trip abroad. We can normally deal with simple trips to one or two countries. We are not able to deal with complex holidays which take in multiple countries; in these circumstances, the nurse may advise that you need to attend a specialist travel clinic to meet your needs.
We offer a range of vaccinations. A fee may be charged for some vaccines.
We are not able to give Yellow Fever Vaccinations.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

These are available for insurance, HGV and pre-employment purposes. A fee is charged based on the recommended published sales from the BMA. Please ask at reception. Private Charges
Some of the work or requests we are asked to cary out by patients is not covered by the NHS. As a result a fee may be payable. Please find below more information about our charrges for non NHS work.
Some insurance forms can appear deceptively simple but need a full examination for their completion. Examinations of this nature take time and, therefore, a fee has to be charged.
A special appointment will be required and the fee payable at the time of the appointment. Please advise the reception staff at the time of booking. It is extremely helpful if the form can be left at the surgery prior to your appointment.
Pre-employment, HGV and PSV licenses are not paid for by the NHS.
The Doctor is only allowed to sign a passport application if they have known you personally for a minimum of two years. Doctors are not the only people who can sign your passport application.
Cancellation of Holiday
Holiday cancellation insurance does not require a doctor’s letter. It needs an official claim form obtained from your insurers (part of which you need to complete). If the doctor is asked to sign the form, it will be checked and completed as appropriate. There is a fee for this.
Private Fees Travel Vaccinations and Fees for Non NHS Services
The following are charges for services that are not covered by the General Medical Services contract and have to be paid as a private service. The list is not exhaustive and is only a guide to some of the charges that come under private work.
If you are unsure weather a charge may be applied please ask at reception. Charges may change from time to time.
